Lash & Brow Aftercare: Hints & Tips
Following your treatment, it’s important to follow the recommended aftercare to help maintain your results, keep your natural lashes & brows in the best possible condition, & extend the life of your treatment.
Eyelash Extensions
Eyelash extensions are a way of life!
Taking care of your lashes properly is essential to help them last longer, maintain their beautiful appearance & protect your natural lashes.
Classic & Volume eyelash extensions can usually last around 2–3 weeks before an infill is required.
Your eyelash extensions will naturally shed as part of your natural lash growth cycle, & you may notice slightly more shedding on the side you sleep.
To keep your extensions looking their best:
- Avoid oil-based products on or around your eyelash extensions
- This includes certain eye makeup, makeup removers, facial cleansers & skincare products
- Oil can break down the adhesive bonds, causing premature lash shedding
- Avoid cotton buds, cotton wool & fibre-based products around your extensions, as fibres can become caught in the lashes
- Gently cleanse your lashes regularly using a suitable lash cleanser to keep them clean & free from makeup, oils & debris
- Don’t panic if a few eyelash extensions fall out shortly after your appointment or within the first 24 hours; this can be completely normal
- We recommend booking your next infill appointment before leaving the salon, ideally every 2–3 weeks, to maintain a full, fresh appearance
- If you would like your eyelash extensions removed, please book a professional removal appointment with your lash technician
- Never attempt to pull, pick or remove your eyelash extensions yourself, as this can cause unnecessary damage to your natural lashes
- Professional lash removal is quick & straightforward, usually taking around 30 minutes, when carried out by a trained lash professional using the appropriate removal products
Lash Lift Aftercare
A lash lift is a low-maintenance lash treatment requiring very little aftercare.
However, following these simple guidelines will help you maintain your lash lift for longer.
For the first 24 hours:
- Avoid mascara & eye makeup
- Avoid getting your lashes excessively wet
- Avoid steam rooms, saunas & hot baths
- Avoid swimming
- Avoid sweaty gym workouts or excessive perspiration
- Avoid facials or treatments involving steam
- Avoid touching or rubbing your lashes unnecessarily
- Avoid applying oily products directly around the eye area
After the first 24 hours, you can treat your lifted lashes as normal.
We recommend booking a lash tint every 2–4 weeks, depending on your individual needs, to keep your lashes looking defined.
Your next lash lift appointment can usually be booked every 6–8 weeks.
Eyebrow Lamination Treatment Aftercare
Follow these simple aftercare guidelines to keep your brows looking beautifully defined for as long as possible.
Following your brow lamination treatment, we recommend repeating the treatment every 6–8 weeks, depending on your desired look & natural hair growth cycle.
If a brow tint is included as part of your treatment, you can return every 2–4 weeks for a tint top-up & brow tidy to keep your brows looking fresh & defined.
For optimum results:
- Treat your brows gently for the first 24 hours following your treatment
- Avoid getting your brows wet for the first 24 hours
- Avoid rubbing, picking or excessively touching your brows
- Avoid applying makeup or self-tanning products directly to the brow area for the first 24 hours
- Keep the brow area clean & dry during the initial development period
- Avoid swimming in chlorinated water for 24 hours, including swimming pools & hot tubs, as chlorine can affect the treatment & may cause the tint to fade
- Avoid heat & steam, including saunas & steam rooms, for the first 24 hours
- Avoid sunbeds for the first 24 hours
- Avoid excessive sweating or strenuous exercise for 48 hours following your treatment
- Avoid oil-based products around the brow area
- Always check your skincare & makeup products for oil content
- After the initial aftercare period, you can get your brows wet as normal, including swimming
- Allow your brows to dry naturally where possible or gently blot them dry rather than rubbing
Keeping Your Brows Looking Fresh
You can return to your brow technician after a few weeks for a professional tint top-up & tidy.
This is a quick & easy way to refresh your brows, add definition & maintain their appearance without affecting your brow lamination.
Alternatively, you can allow your brows to naturally fade & wait until your next brow lamination appointment.
Lash & Brow Conditioning
For beautifully nourished brows between appointments, we recommend using a lash & brow conditioning serum to help keep your hairs feeling soft, healthy & conditioned.
